Editing the profile settings

In order to edit the profile of an iCON iCG60 antenna, start the profile wizard.
Refer to: Sensor profile setup

  1. Go to Settings > Devices from within the Home screen.

    • When using iCON build the device settings are available from within Status Bar 1.
    • The "Profiles" screen is displayed.
  2. To edit the profile settings, tap the arrow button to the right of the profile name.
    The "Configuration" screen is displayed.
  3. Configuration Options:

Editing the communication settings

In the "Configuration" screen, tap Communication.
The "Communication Settings" screen is displayed.

  1. To define the Communication method between instrument and controller tap Mode, within the Communication Mode container.
  2. Connection Options:
    1. For Cable connection, ensure the cable is connected. Once the instrument is connected, it changes from white to yellow in the search list.
    2. For Bluetooth, press the Start Search key. Select the relevant instrument from Search Results.
  3. Tap to save changes.

Editing the profile configuration

  1. In the "Configuration" screen, tap Edit Configuration.
    The wizard for profile configuration is displayed.
    • Some functionalities in the advanced settings are licenced. Ask your ABTech representative for information about licensing.
    • Depending on the already defined profile setup, number and content of the available wizard steps vary. Refer to the respective paragraphs.
  2. Wizard step "Radio Settings"

    • Define the settings for the internal radio. Tap the next Wizard step to proceed. 
  3. Wizard step "NTRIP Settings" 

    • Define the settings for NTRIP connection. To check if the connection works, tap .
  4. Wizard step "Server & Port Settings"

    • Define the settings for server connection. Tap the next Wizard step to proceed.
  5. Wizard step "Mountpoint Settings" (only for NTRIP) 
    Mountpoints are downloaded automatically.

    • Tap the next Wizard step to proceed.
  6. Wizard step "Antenna Settings"

    • Measurement Method:
      • Vertical: The vertical height reading is the height difference between the bottom end and the top end of the pole.
      • Height Hook: If setting up using a tripod, the measurement required is the vertical height from the height hook to the ground.
    • Tilt:
      Switch on or off as necessary.
    • RTK Bridging:
      • RTK Bridging requires an active licence on the antenna and is a correction service delivered via Satellite to bridge RTK correction outages for maximum 10 minutes.
      • RTK Bridging is available for iCON iCG70, iCON iCG160 and iCON iCG100 antennas.
      • Ask your ABTech representative for information on licencing. See also: Uploading firmware updates or licence keys
      • Alternatively, use PPP. Note though, that PPP requires a licence of its own and needs to be set up as a profile of its own. Refer to: Option "New Configuration"
    • Cut-off angle:
      Below this defined angle satellites will not be taken into account for calculations.
    • Glonass, Galileo, Beidou, GPS L2C, QZSS:
      Switch the satellite channels on or off.
    • Tap the next Wizard step to proceed.
  7. Wizard step "Status Page"

    • Overview of the current profile configuration is displayed. If desired, edit the name of the profile.
    • Tap to save changes.

Displaying the system information

In the "Configuration" screen, tap System Information.
The "System Information" screen is displayed.

  1. To display detailed information, tap an item in the list:
    • Sensor Info
    • Measurement Engine
    • Licences 
  2. Tap to return to the "Configuration" screen.

Uploading firmware updates

In the "Configuration" screen, tap System Utilities.
The "System Utilities" screen is displayed.

  1. To choose an upload option, tap an item in the list:
    • Upload Firmware

  2. Upload Firmware
    The version number of the currently installed firmware is displayed.
    Most firmware files can be downloaded using the Software Update function. Refer to: Software Update
    • For iCON iCG30
      • Firmware updates are installed together with new versions of the iCON software. Firmware files are not available separately.
      • Measurement Engine firmware needs to be upgraded separately. It can be downloaded, and is automatically stored to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Leica Geosystems\GS_Server_LMC\SD Card\System on the controller.
    • For iCON iCG70
      • Firmware can be downloaded, and is automatically stored to the [System] folder on the Internal Memory or on the SD card.
      • To upgrade the firmware, plug the SD card into the sensor. Make sure to copy the firmware file to the [System] folder on the SD card, if not yet stored there automatically during download.
      • Measurement Engine firmware gets updated together with firmware.
    • For iCON iCG160
      • Firmware can be downloaded, and is automatically stored to the [System] folder on the Internal Memory or on a USB flash drive.
      • To upgrade the firmware, plug the USB flash drive into the sensor. Make sure to copy the firmware file to the [System] folder on the USB flash drive, if not yet stored there automatically during download.
      • Measurement Engine firmware gets updated together with firmware.
    • For iCON iCG100/CR50
      • Firmware can be downloaded, and is automatically stored to the [System] folder on the Internal Memory or to the [fw_import] folder on a USB flash drive.
      • To upgrade the firmware, plug the USB flash drive into the sensor. Make sure to copy the firmware file to the [fw_import] folder on the USB flash drive, if not yet stored there automatically during download.
    • As soon as a firmware file is available, it is displayed below the section Available Version.
    • To select a file for upload, tap the file name.
    • Tap Start Update.
  3. Tap to save changes and to return to the "Configuration" screen.

☞ If the maintenance date is not valid, an error message is displayed.

For iCON iCG60:

  • Firmware upload is exclusively handled via the User Interface on the antenna and cannot be done using the iCON software.
  • Refer to the 'Leica iCON series Licence Installation and Activation Guide' for detailed instructions.
  • The 'Leica iCON series Licence Installation and Activation Guide' is available on myWorld for download.

Uploading licence keys

  1. To choose an upload option, tap an item in the list:
    • Upload Licence key

  2. Upload Licence key
    • For iCON iCG30
      • To upload a licence key, turn iCON off and copy the licence file to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Leica Geosystems\iCON\GNSSProfiles on the controller.
    • For iCON iCG70
      • To upload a licence key, copy the licence file to either the
        [GNSSProfiles] folder or the [System] folder on the controller.
    • For iCON iCG160
      • To upload a licence key, copy the licence file to either the [GNSSProfiles] folder or the [System] folder on the controller.
    • For iCON iCG100/CR50
      • To upload a licence key, copy the licence file to either the [GNSSProfiles] folder or the [System] folder on a USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive into the sensor.
    • To access the licence key, synchronise the controller with the antenna, then edit the antenna profile settings. Select System Utilities > Upload Licence key in the "Configuration" screen.
    • Select the new licence key file.
    • Tap Start Upload.
  3. Tap to save changes and to return to the "Configuration" screen.

☞ Restart or reconnect the antenna to ensure that all licence changes are displayed correctly in the software.

For iCON iCG60
Upload of licence keys is exclusively handled via the User Interface on the antenna and cannot be done using the iCON software.

Upload the antenna list

  1. Antenna:
    • For iCON iCG30
      • To upload the antenna list, copy the antenna list file to C:/Users/ Public/Documents/Leica Geosystems/GS_Server_LMC/SD Card/System on the controller.
    • For iCON iCG70
      • To upload the antenna list, copy the antenna list file to the [System] folder on the SD card and plug the SD card into the antenna.
    • For iCON iCG160
      • To upload the antenna list, copy the antenna list file to the [System] folder on a USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive into the antenna.
    • For iCON iCG100/CR50
      • To upload the antenna list, copy the antenna list file to the [System] folder on a USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive into the antenna.
  2. Reboot the antenna.
    During reboot the antenna list file is automatically imported.

☞ You can reset the antenna list using the iCON field software.

For iCON iCG60
Upload of an antenna list is exclusively handled via the User Interface on the antenna and cannot be done using in iCON software.

Resetting the antenna

In the "Configuration" screen, tap Reset Options.
The "Reset Options" screen is displayed.

  1. To choose a reset option, tap an item in the list:
    • Reset an almanac
    • Reset an antenna
    • Reset an antenna list
  2. Reset Options:
    • Reset an almanac
      • To reset the almanac on the antenna, tap Start.
      • The current almanac is deleted and a new almanac is downloaded.
      • Downloading a new almanac can take up to 15 minutes. While resetting the almanac, the fixed position is lost.
    • Reset an antenna
      • To reset the antenna to factory settings, tap Start.
      • After reset, the antenna needs to be reconnected to the controller.
    • Reset an antenna list
      • To reset the antenna list, tap Start.
      • The currently stored antenna list is reset to factory settings.
      • Make sure that no list.ant file is in the System folder of the SD card before starting the reset.
  3. Tap to return to the "Configuration" screen.

Recording RINEX data

☞ To record RINEX data you need to have a RINEX licence.

☞ Ensure that an SD card is inserted into the antenna. For more information on the setup for data recording, refer to the user manual of the antenna.

In the "Configuration" screen, tap Rinex Logging.
The "Rinex Logging" screen is displayed.

  1. Tap Start/Stop.
  2. To start recording data, tap Start.
  3. To stop recording data, tap Stop.
    • Select the output type for storing the recorded data.
  4. Tap to return to the "Configuration" screen
